United v City

Ok I've laid Over 2.5 Goals in this, so expect a cracker..................

Really wanted to get on the Bookings but the quotes are way to high.

I may trade if it is 0-0 at half time.

Good Luck All, especially if you are on UNDERS!

Close but no cigar...........

As mentioned on the Blog last night, thought Bristol City offered a bit of value to beat Cardiff (I really should start charging for these tips)

There's nothing like a bit of value, the problem is you can't eat it, BANG! 0-6 Final Score. I feel this has taken my Punting to a whole new level.....................

Just to compund it, then decided to have a few quid on Liverpool In Play. BANG! 0-0. If I place one more bet on these overpaid bunch of wasters please feel free to SHOOT ME! It appears that Gerard has decided he is on the plane to South Africa already and has no need to try for the rest of the season, god forbid he might get injured yet again. The rest of them without Torres and Benayoun may as well not bother turning up. As for Aquilani, if Rafa the Joker had wanted to spend £20 million on someone to warm the bench because he is too fragile to play, he should have phoned me. I would have done it for a fraction of the cost. I really don't know what is going on behind the scenes but hopefully it all gets sorted this season.

I'm sure most of you know him already, but there is a character called 'Money Tree' on the Betfair forums, always had a chuckle at him to be fair, doesn't take himself too seriously, doesn't have a great record. In a head to head against me, I'd have him @ 1.01 at the moment.

I'm really tempted to lump on Man United tonight as I really want them to go out, but I can't do it. I have decided that unless every Man United fan who reads this Blog sends me £100 before 7.30 I am going to lump on!

Anyway back to being serious for a minute and I've got a few Golfers I want to back pre kick off in Quatar, I'll be back later to post them up so you can lay them to the hilt!

By the way Talkbet I fancy Everton too........................

Tonight's Football

Struggling to find much value in tonight's football to be honest.

I fancy Spurs and Liverpool to do the business but can't get involved at the prices.

One bet that does stand out though is Bristol City to beat Cardiff, just think they may have a bit too much at home. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Qualified for the 5k Guaranteed on Betfair, so I'll be playing that while watching the scores.

Good Luck All.

Bob Hope Classic - Golf - Update

Could Green for a few quid or so, but don't fancy Bubba at all? What do you think? Decided to get Timmy on side just in case he doesn't bottle it as always.

Another one....

Can you tell I don't fancy Bubba to win this?

That will do for me now, probably more money to be made but I don't want to get greedy.

Bob Hope Classic - Golf

Hi All, hope you are well.

Had quite a decent weekend on the punting front, especially with the NFL last night, so I have decided to get involved with the Golf tonight.

Not sure whether any of you trade this at all? but thought I would share my opening position with you to see if we can turn a profit.

I'll try to update if I make any changes, but would welcome any input any of you guys may have.

Back on the 'Horse'

Hello All

Apologies for the break in posting but to be honest, not really done much on the Punting/Trading for the last 10 days or so.

Still been following the blogs on the left with interest however and it appears for the most part things are going well. All Good.

I've removed my P&L for the moment as to be honest I don't need reminding of my poor performace up till now in 2010. I'll still be posting screen shots when appropriate but my overall P&L is going to remain Private from now on(At least until I am winning) as it is too embarassing and encourages me to chase. I'll let you know when I start paying the Premium Charge but suffice to say it may be a while ;-)

You'll still know when I am winning (If ever) and when I am losing, but I'll keep it to Events as opposed to overall to stop boring people.

You'll think I am mad but if I can get 2.5+ on Liverpool pre kick off, I'm on. Couldn't believe the game last night between City and Unitied - City drifted to 4.1+ pre kick off which I really should have had some of.

I would love to be trading the Aussie Tennis but I need my beauty sleep, been some cracking games already.

Special mention to Stripped1977 who I just know is going to get his loss back and Eddy Dixon who continues to impress with his results. Best wishes to Stephen Maher's Cat also. Oh and 70k, I don't want my lesson to cost the same but fair play you seem to have the Tennis trading sussed.

Good Luck all and let's try and find some winners.

Week Ending Sunday 10th January 2010 - Shock Therapy

Well what another disaster of a week.

I am on my worst losing run for a long time and it doesn't feel great I can tell you. Must admit it is strangely theraputic writing about it however. I must be a masochist at heart.

Not even going to start analysing each bet and where it went wrong. I'd be here all night.

Chasing, boredom, greening up when I shouldn't, not greening up when I should, not cutting losses - I think I have made every mistake in the book this year.

Thank God things are starting to get back to normal workwise, the only positive I can think of at the moment.

I am in this for the long haul (hopefully) however, but obviously can't keep sustaining these losses week after week.

You'll notice I have changed the P&L section on here to reflect this year only as it means I can easily update it. Will still post changes weekly, but thought it would give me a constant reminder of the low base I am starting with. I have also played a bit of Poker (Only play Sit and Gos and Tournaments) so I am going to post the Sharkscope Graph too so we can see if I improve at that. All can be seen at the bottom of the blog.

I may take a break for a few days before posting/punting again to try and get rid of the negative thoughts, but like riding a bike I'll be back on board soon.

Nice to see some of you other Bloggers doing Ok at the moment, hopefully I'll be with you soon.

At least you can't accuse me of just posting the wins ;-) I can't do that as I would have nothing to write......

O'Shea v Chisnall

Just a quick post, had a terrible couple of days Punting, mainly on the horses. (Boredom setting in with the snow I reckon). Why I play the awful racing is beyond me.................

My record of posting up tips is awful too, but I really like the look of O'Shea at Evens in this one. Chisnall looked very nervy against Hankey and I don't think this is going to be any easier for him.

If it goes my way early I may trade, not sure yet.

Good Luck all.

South Africa v England - 3rd Test - Newlands (Day 5)

Managed to improve my position by a tenner this morning.

Was on South Africa for the 6 overs before tea, rather sadly hoping for a wicket.

May wait for the drift on SA over Tea and then get back on them with the green for a few overs after tea.

Duminy looked dangerous in that last over.

Edit 13.48 OK had a cheap few overs on SA after tea but have levelled off again. Don't think I'll tinker with this on any more, so come on England, save this Test.

Edit 16.22

Feck me, pinched a couple more quid but glad I wasn't exposed at the end. Only England provide  entertainment like that........................

South Africa v England - 3rd Test - Newlands (Day 4 Close)

Decided to Green up the position rather than leave any nasty Red.

South Africa should do this easily tomorrow, but I've been burnt holding on to positions so have taken the safe option.

Forgot to mention won about £50 on the Stoke game last night, so the comeback is on..............

Good luck all.

South Africa v England - 3rd Test - Newlands (Day 4)

Well they weren't joking about the snow....... Reckon we have had the best part of 20cm overnight with more to come apparently.

On to the cricket and I've lost Sky which is a pain, will get outside with a brush at some point to clear the dish.

Still running the same position as last night and feel SA have missed a bit of a trick this morning. I still stand by them needing a 475+ lead before declaring and this may take them until Tea to get the way they are going.

They can't take the risk of anything less with KP about. Imagine the headlines.

If they come out and play a bit of 20/20 after lunch and get the scoring moving, I am going to red the position.  If they leave England only 4 sessions to negotiate I will re-evaluate dependant to the prices.

Good Luck all and where is that brush?

Edit 11.55

Well the brush was no use, bloody snow.

England need 466 in 4 1/2 sessions. hmmmmm................ RRR of 3.4ish if you factor in probable lost overs. Tough call this now. Obviously not been watching as no sky, but pitch doesn't appear to be doing that much. If England see off the new ball this SA price is going to rocket. Undecided as to what to do.

Edit 13.20 Tea

Laid the draw during that session as I think it is too short. For the draw to come in much more England will need to not lose wickets and if they don't they are going to be much shorter than 12/1 come the end of the day. So I have reduced my exposure on SA at the same time.

Edit 14.56

Backed South Africa, just thought they were getting too big.

Nice timing for a change, Cook goes........................

South Africa v England - 3rd Test - Newlands (Day 3)

Well that could have gone a whole lot better...................

I have actually made my position worse today.

Any ideas of England winning this Test (Barring an extremely generous declaration by Smith) now appear to be over.

So now I am reliant on an outstanding rear guard action by England and maybe the prospect of Smith batting for too long tomorrow.

I think Smith won't declare without a lead of 475+ which will leave England needing to bat 4 1/2 sessions to save the game (Maybe 5 if SA really have a go in the morning) - Can England do it? My head says no.

The prospect of SA trading at 3+ is unlikely now, but I need 1.58 to break even. Should I hold out do you think, or should I take the pain now?

I'm going to sleep on it and see if it makes a difference when there is 6 inches of snow on the ground in the morning.

Good Luck. SP.

South Africa v England - 3rd Test - Newlands (Day 2)

Just a quick one. Laid South Africa earlier in the day, to get this week up and running.

Think they have been under priced since the start but took the plunge when Bell and Collingwood were at the crease. Disappointed with Bell's (What a nothing shot) dismissal especially, but feel that England can add a few more in the morning to hopefully at least gain parity.

To be honest I think South Africa (Who might well win) should be closer to Evens at this point in time, so as usual I am letting the lay ride rather than Greening up for pennies.

Would be particularly interested in hearing from anyone with a view on this one. I personally think SA will trade 3.0+ at some point over the next couple of days.

Week Ending Sunday 3rd January 2010

Well Ladies and Gents the time has come for the last week's P&L and boy it's not pretty. Could have been a lot worse however if I hadn't traded the third/fourth play-off game last night in the Darts. Just goes to show how bad things were going in to last night.................

Needless to say the Darts killed me last week. I seem to have been on the wrong end of the majority of games and even when the opportunities have come to Green Up I thought I knew better than the market. We live and learn. The one upside is I left the NFL alone last week ;-)

Anyway onwards and upwards hopefully, and let's see what this week brings.

Good Luck all.

Lazarus

I've laid the Power big here, COME ON THE WIZARD !

Edit 1-1 This bet is riding...................

Edit 2-2 This Aussie has got bottle. going to let it ride for a bit longer. What a game.

Edit 5-2 Taylor, the man is a genius. Sid Waddell however is the most annoying commentator on TV, he seems to think he knows where every Dart is going, what a plank. Fair play to the Wizard he's done more than the other bottle merchants.

Edit 6-3 Surely not, laid a chunk of Taylor at 1.02 for a laugh.

Edit 7-3 Fair Play Taylor. Great Match. Sky have got to get rid of Waddell though. His best days are behind him. Don't think Whitlock will be 80's next year somehow.

Good Call all of you Power backers.

Bad to worse............

Have had an awful week all told, the Darts especially have killed me. I seem to have found another sport I can't call, quite an achievement ;-)

Some mentalist throwing a full bottle of lager through the rear windscreen on New Years Eve didn't help either...

I nearly hit he Green Up button at Barney leading 4-2 last night but couldn't do it as I couldn't see the Wizard coming back in to it. I would say we live and learn, but I don't. Fair play to Whitlock though he showed bottle and I like that.

I am thinking of having one last chase bet this week on Whitlock to win the final. Long Shot I know as he may well choke (like everyone else against Taylor) tonight.

What do you all think? Worth a go or not?

Barney v Whitlock

Have had an awful couple of days, even by my own low standards ;-)

Having a bit of a lump on Barney tonight. Just feel he is the value in this one.

The Wizard has been playing out of his skin up till now and if he comes out in the same form as he did yesterday this bet could go down to the tubes quick. I was on Wade yesterday as you have probably already guessed.

Just think the pressure may get to him a bit tonight and Barney has been there and done it so after opposing him (At some cost) throughout the Tourney, I am lumping on him now.

Reckon we could be on for a decent game here so if there are opportunities to trade I will.

Good luck if you are playing tonight.

Update to follow on the awful week's P&L tomorrow.
