Weekend Update

Well dodged a bullet on the golf. Traded a bit to reduce the exposure, but Bradley was still a three figure loser for me at the end. Thank you Mr Dredge, your ability to implode is almost on a par with Mr Siem.

Football was only to be expected, goal line technology or not, they were abysmal. I am sure we'll get to hear about it in the coming months but there were obviously big problems in the camp. As far as I am concerned they are just a bunch of over paid prima donnas.

Must be tough for them coming back to their £100k a week or whatever after their abject performance during the whole World Cup. I personally hope Capello stays in his job, because I reckon there are a few of them who won't be playing again under him.

Definitely one or two big time charlies in that squad who are too big for their boots and to be playing for England, regardless of what they say.

Playing a bit of Poker tonight while watching the Brazil game, really fancy them to win but I won't get involved at 1.5x.

BMW International Open - Golf

Just thought I would post this up as an example of how not to trade the golf...................

Don't ask me how I got to this point as it would be too embarassing to explain.

Got a couple of other decent greens on player's you can't see in this screenshot, Siem for example.

Kaymer 63 anyone?

Group D Qualifying

Laid Germany/Serbia Dual Forecast on Betfair @ 2.02.

Don't rate Serbia to be honest and think the Aussies may beat them. Also not so sure Germany will have things all there own way against Ghana.

Bit of a value lay more than anything but we'll see what happens.

Day of reckoning...............

After all the waiting, as per normal with England, it comes down to 90 minutes.

We are not talking about winning the World Cup here, we are talking about getting out of one of the easiest Groups of all time....................... Sad isn't it.

Looks like we can chalk one up for Capello with no Joe Cole in the starting line up, let's just hope he's not cutting off his nose to spite his face.

I'm not getting involved in any market on this game as there is too much at stake any way. If I was however it would definitely be in the World Cup Winner market. At the time of writing you could back them at 11.5 and with any sort of performance this will come down to 9 at least I would think. Their route to the Semi's does look quite straght forward if they could find a bit of form from somewhere.

One last thing when you look at all the troubles in the French Camp and the Issues we've had too, where does it all stem from? Anelka, Evra, Terry, Rooney - That's right you've guessed it all overpaid prima donnas playing in the Premiership.

I must confess after following Football passionately for over 30 years, my interest is starting to wane.

Anyway now is not the time for this, GOOD LUCK ENGLAND! and even if you don't win at least look like you've given it your all for the Badge.

Edit 17.04

Ok forget the easy route to the Semi's line because that is no longer the case............. Also given Terry a fair amount of stick on here before but today he looked like he would die for that shirt, one moment changed what I think of him, diving headlong with his nose 3 inches of the ground to try and block a Slovenia shot. Fair Play that's what we all wanted to see. As for Rooney I do hope he is still carrying an injury, because surely that is the only reason for what we have seen over the last three games????

Nigeria to Qualify?

Had a few quid on at 4.3 on Betfair.

They haven't looked great so far, but I am not sure South Korea are good enough to play for the draw they need.

If Nigeria score first should be good for a trade in any case.

England v Australia (1st ODI)

Currently running a position on England, which I will trade, but to be honest I amazed at the current odds available.

Close on Evens the pair with England needing one more wicket to be through to the longish looking tail.

I feel like I am missing something, just not sure what.......................

Quick One............

Busy night to look forward to tonight, can't wait.

Having a few quid on Brazil @ 1.81, think you'll see a different side tonight now they've got three points in the bag. Not as impressed as every one else seems to be when it comes to Ivory Coast.

Also in the Golf have laid Johnson, so am now nicely green on the field (especially Tiger, who strangely enough I am not sure about tonight) running a red on Dustin now though, but will trade this later. I would love to see G-Mac or Ernie win to be honest.

Probably back with more a bit later but good luck if you are having a punt tonight.

The morning after the night before...................

Was going to post last night, but thought it may be better to wait until this morning.

Firstly let me make a disclaimer here, as promised earlier on I did not get involved in the England game at all last night so this is not pocket talking, more like just a general SEETHE...................

WTF is Capello doing? We all know that England are no Brazil (of old not today) but FFS the man only seems to know how to play 4-4-2 and it doesn't suit the squad of shite he has at his disposal. Don't get me wrong Heskey is Ok in his own right but a regular starter for England? No. The man shits himself if he is in a position to score, always looking for a difficult pass rather than an easy shot.

Capello, you want to play with a target man so we can hit balls 5 feet over his head on a regular basis, then for god's sake give Crouch a start. For one he is taller, so the useless gits pumping the long balls have got more margin for error (God they need it) and also he also doesn't drop his load if he has got a chance to score.

FFS Try Gerrard playing in the hole just behing Rooney (More on this poor excuse later) that way you can have the two teacher's pets in the side (Lampard and Gerrard), accomodate Joe Cole to cover the ground on the left and you never know we may actually look like scoring. I appreciate we may actually have to attempt to pass the ball rather than hoof it but for players on an avergae of what, £100k per week you would hope they could try it?

As for Rooney, yes mate you may have been disappointed at the end of the game last night (as we all were), but don't forget where your wages come from. Without mugs like me paying Sky ridiculous amounts of money each week, you'd be nothing. If I had paid thousands of pounds to watch you and your millionaire mates in South Africa, I expect I would have been booing too, just be thankful none of them had any bricks! I love your passion but if you don't want to alienate half the nation get your apology out this morning.

I'm a Liverpool fan and don't even get me started on Carragher, he's getting past his sell by date at club level! Ok he is versatile, but he is a liabilty. Why he was talked out of International retirement I'll never know.

Oh and BTW Capello, try naming your team a bit earlier on Wednesday eh? It doesn't make you look big or clever! It just means no-one knows where they are including the squad. It also means I won't have to bother taking the time off if you are going to play the same 11 muppets again!

US Open Update

Greened up on the Tiger Lay, in fact the majority of green is now on him as opposed to the field.

Will play around a bit with it later and update if anything interesting happens.

Good Luck England.

World Cup and US Open

Couple of bets tonight that I'll probably trade, but will wait and see how they go.

Laying France against Mexico. Think Mexico are better than people are giving them credit for and with the way results have gone elsewhere in this group a draw wouldn't hurt France to any great degree.

Also laying Tiger in the Golf, He's not even teed off yet and in to 6/1 on Betfair, think it may be slightly harder for the late starters, so all in all laying a player who looks a shadow of his former self looks decent value.

May be back on later to update the positions but we'll see what happens.

To all England Supporters, I PROMISE I will not be getting involved in the game tomorrow night, starting to get a bit excited about it though I must admit.

World Cup Update

Well things haven't been going to well up to this point!

Got a bet tonight which I am hoping will put things right though.

Uruguay must have a great chance of beating South Africa later, they must know they realistically have to win this game if they harbour any hopes of qualifying from this group. Surely they won't want to chance leaving it until the game with Mexico?

At 2.46 I am willing to take the chance.

Can't really say anyne has impressed me up to this point. Spain very disappointing earlier.

Good Luck if you are having a Punt.

Sunday

Firstly an apology to all England Fans..........

It was my fault the game finished 1-1 last night as I backed England at half time. This blind patriotism gets very expensive over a period of time.

Could be worse I could be Robert Green.

Having just watched Slovenia v Algeria, if we can't stuff both of them we don't deserve to be in the World Cup anyway.

Going to lay the Germans later against Australia and have a lay running on Tommy Bjorn in the Euro Golf.

Apart from that may play some Poker later on and trade the cricket if I get a chance.

Good Luck All.

World Cup 2010

Well here we are at last, after what seems like an age of waiting - It's here.

Are England going to finally deliver in my lifetime? Let's hope so. As seems to be repeated every 4 years, I don't think they are going to get a better chance.

Haven't really got involved in too many markets over the last week or so, but I think this is all going to change over the next couple of weeks.

First bet of the tournament is Mexico to beat South Africa in the opening game. Strangely, Tournament hosts have a great record in opening games, but I think this will change this afternoon.

Not involved with the Golf as yet this week as the Euro Tour scoreboard has been shocking putting it mildly.

Celtic Manor - Payday

Ok built a fairly nice position on this over the last three days, but have taken a big punt for the final day.

I've laid Marcel Siem for all the Green I have built up along with my current Betfair Balance.

Marcel is not so much what I would describe as a choker, the man can do it with style. If things start to go wrong they go wrong big time, he Implodes.

If he hangs on today while not trading bigger than his current price I'll be shocked.

Every dog has his day, so if he wins, I'll hit the Deposit button with good grace.

Thursday

Traded the Euro Golf okish today, nothing major to report although I do think Chris Wood may be a free lay until he tees off tomorrow afternoon with half the field able to post a score before him. Have laid some at 6.2.

Have laid SA in the cricket tonight, just think the prices are wrong on this to be fair at the moment. Think West Indies have a better shout than people are giving them credit for.

Update

Well thse cricket didn't go to plan yesterday, used a lot of my profit laying England but that's the way things go.

Looking at the Derby market this morning, St Nicholas Abbey is not running...................
